GRANTS FOR UNIVERSITIES (CHAPTER 2619/2 – 2024)
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has issued a decree by which it establishes the criteria and procedures for the disbursement of funds allocated in chapter 2619 – Management plan 2. These grants are for the creation and operation of chairs/professorships/lectureships of Italian language at foreign universities and are intended for the partial coverage of the remuneration of instructors hired by universities under local regulations contracts. The term cattedra, i.e. chairs/professorships/lectureships, refers to positions and/or courses in universities, where the Italian language is among the languages taught, according to the regulations of the institution concerned, even if the position or course has a different denomination. These grants are intended for the partial contribution to the payment of the Italian position.
Universities interested in submitting their application for grants will have to send it to the Italian Cultural Institute no later than March 15th, 2024.
The contributions granted in the financial year 2024 must be used by the end of the activities of the academic year 2024/25.
Applications should include the following documents, each individually dated, signed and stamped by the Dean or Department Head:
- DATED, SIGNED AND STAMPED LETTER OF REQUEST (maximum 1 page) with the motivation of the request;
- Form A (request for contribution);
- Form B (final report on the use of the last contribution received, as applicable).
Please note that both Form A and Form B should be filled out electronically, preferably in Italian. All documents should be completed in full, dated, signed and stamped by the applicant.
