Book presentation "Razzismo all'italiana. Cronache di una spia mezzosangue" by Marilena Delli

Book presentation

Photographer, documentary film maker and writer, Marilena Delli talks about her book, "Racism Italian Style" in conversation with Viviana Devoto, a freelance journalist based in San Francisco who writes for Wired Italia, Il Sole 24ore Group, Rivista Studio,, Pagina99.

Marilena Delli is an Italian of Rwandan origins, who grew up in the northern Italian town of Bergamo, the headquarter of the Lega Movement. Her book -- aptly subtitled "Chronicles of a Half-Blood Spy" (published by Edizioni Aracne) -- is a memoir describing the path that started from a whte skin doll and continued through blood stains, sleek concoctions, whitening soaps, death and resurrection. An African-Italian identity that got rejected, disoriented, and hidden under a thousand layers of whiteness.

Delli is also the videographer and co-producer of the Grammy-nominated album of music from Malawi, Zomba Prison Project. For more information about the author:
