ABOUT

leslie rosa la dolce vigna web roundLESLIE ROSA
After a decade of working in the art world for eminent institutions and artists in New York and London, Leslie moved to Italy, fell in love with Italian wine and became a certified sommelier through the Associazione Italiana Sommelier. She created La Dolce Vigna in response to the large, impersonal tours she came across while living in Italy. Her passion is to provide clients with curated tours and itineraries in which each day tells a story and offers an in-depth look at the history and culture of a particular region. When she’s not leading tours in Italy, California or Argentina, you can find Leslie sharing her knowledge at pop-up wine tastings, writing for Slow Food’s Wine Guide or getting lost somewhere beautiful with her watercolor set.

Born and raised in Tuscany, David Cilli developed a deep appreciation for the vineyards, wines, and cuisine of the region from a young age. An internship in a local cellar revealed his passion for making wine and ultimately inspired him to pursue a degree in viticulture and enology in Florence. He then began working in various wine cellars across Montalcino and Tuscany and learning about the commitment to purity by small local family producers. He admired the thread of patience and a multi-generational approach to wine growing. He went on to accept winemaking internships in Italy, Australia, France, and Argentina. This is where David began to understand the different approaches to farming and winemaking, which have helped develop his actual vision. Since the 2012 harvest, he has lived in Napa, and he's been fully dedicated to Promontory Wine. In his free time, he loves to cook and cycle in the Napa Valley.
