October 20 – David Moretti
David Moretti, deputy creative director at WIRED will talk about his experience in Italy and the US working from traditional media to global digital design.
“In 2008 Italy was stuck in a deep cultural crisis. Just surviving on stereotypes and old models and being ordinary instead of innovative. The only value that remained was linked to what the past had produced. We decided to use Wired Italia to drive new and disruptive ideas and concepts, to show a vision through the living example of innovators, scientists, researchers – people ignored by the ordinary press. […] We used graphic design, illustration, photography, and even paper to rivet the attention of our readers, creating visual metaphors related to the content. Helping them to understand complexity and then have an opinion on a specific matter.”

October 21 – Roberto Bonzio
ROBERTO BONZIO will present his latest book Italiani di Frontiera which collects the stories of Italian talent abroad and discusses the obstacles Italian innovators face in their own country.
After a career as a newspaper reporter in Venice and Milan, he joined Reuters Italy, where he covered current affairs, culture, and innovation. His stories for the international news agency have been published in The Guardian, The Independent, Washington Post and New York Times.
In 2008, he launched a personal and independent multimedia project, spending six months with his family in Palo Alto, California. For this project, he has interviewed many Italian entrepreneurs, scientists and other prominent figures in Silicon Valley.
