Festa Coloniale Italiana

This annual Italian Festival celebrates the rich Italian and Italian-American heritage that has existed in San Francisco for generations. This free event continues to be San Francisco’s only Italian Festival. In addition, we will be celebrating The Year of Italian Language in America with prominent guest speakers. There will also be special exhibits including Italian autos courtesy of Maserati Fiat of San Francisco. We will also be honoring the two-hundredth anniversary of the Arma Dei Carabinieri of Italy.Along Stockton Street, between Union and Filbert Streets at Washington Square Park, there will be a variety of continuous live Italian music including this year’s headliner, Moreno Fruzzetti, who has been declared the “Ambassador of Italian Music to America.” In addition, there will be professional Tarantella Dancers, vendors selling Italian-themed and imported products and club member Tony Gemignani (of Tony’s Pizza Napoletana of North Beach) will be providing an exhibition of jaw-dropping pizza dough tossing by expert pizzaioli. The club’s ballroom will be transformed into an Italian piazza complete with a fountain, additional vendors and wine tasting. The Festa will also have tasty, authentic regional Italian food and a variety of beverages for you to enjoy.FESTA COLONIALE ITALIANA is a free and fun no smoking family event and is open to the public.
