Viola’s Italian Kitchen

Cooking at the Italian Consulate

Viola Buitoni’s monthly classes on the traditions and trends of Italian cooking, held in the private kitchen of San Francisco’s Italian Consulate (2590 Webster Street), have now resumed, beginning on Wednesday the 5th of March.
In these intimate hands-on workshops, students integrate Italian regional cuisine and seasonal ingredients into everyday, flavourful cooking for family and friends. The themed menus are custom-crafted for each class in accordance with seasonal availability of fresh and mostly organic ingredients. Viola will share her knowledge on sourcing and selecting the best ingredients and discuss the crossroads of California’s agricultural bounty with the best of Italian food imports. At the end of each class, students gather for a communal meal to enjoy what they have prepared, while overlooking the Bay and Golden Gate Bridge. Participants go home with a recipe booklet and full bellies!
