ABOUT

ROMAN COPPOLA
Mr. Coppola is an Academy Award-nominated screenwriter, director, and producer. He co-wrote Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom and Isle of Dogs, directed CQ, and produced acclaimed films such as Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette, and A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III. He is also the co-founder of the innovative filmmaking collective The Directors Bureau and has directed numerous award-winning music videos for artists including The Strokes and Daft Punk, as well as acclaimed commercials.

PIETRO PINTO
Pietro Pinto, MFA, is an award-winning Italian filmmaker and Chair of the Film Department at CSSSA – CalArts. His thesis film, Adam, debuted at the Venice Film Festival, competing in Venice Critics’ Week, and his short film The Golden Gate won Best Narrative and Best in Show at the CSU Media Arts Festival. Pinto teaches film directing at SFFS and UCLA and is the founder of an original masterclass series featuring top industry professionals in partnership with UCLA, CalArts, USC, the Berlinale, and the Locarno Film Festival.
