On the occasion of Italian Heritage Month, Italian author Giorgio Chiarva presents his novel A Gentleman Banker (Il banchiere galantuomo), based on the extraordinary story of Amadeo Giannini, born in San Jose, CA in 1870 to Italian immigrants, who became the founder of Bank of America, pioneered banking practices that served “the little fellow,” funded the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge, and helped nurture the motion picture and wine industries in California.
The presentation will be in Italian with English translation.
Organized by the Museo Italo Americano in collaboration with Associazione Liguri nel Mondo, with the support of the Italian Consulate General and the Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco.
