Including two new Italian films!
The 37th Portland International Film Festival, which will take place between the 6th and the 22nd of February 2014, will offer two Italian films.
Salvo (Italy, 2013; Fabio Grassadonia, Antonio Piazza; 104’). 9 Feb. 2:45 PM and 14 Feb. 8:30 PM.
A hit man for the Sicilian mafia, Salvo is solitary, cold, and ruthless. When he sneaks into a house on an assignment, he discovers Rita, an innocent young blind girl who must stand by powerlessly while her brother is assassinated. What follows is an intense exchange, fueled by adrenaline and fear, between the killer and his witness, one that changes their two lives in an instant.
Those Happy Years (Anni Felici; Italy, 2013; Daniele Lucchetti; 106’). 7 Feb. 8:30 PM and 8 Feb. 6 PM.
From the director of Ginger and Cinnamon (03), My Brother is an Only Child (07), and Our Life (10). A narcissistic artist finds his self-satisfied world turned upside down in the wake of a disastrous exhibition and his previously devoted wife’s extra-marital inclinations.
