Film screening: The Clock of Munich

International Holocaust Remembrance Day

On the occasion of International Holocaust Remembrance Day we will screen the film L’orologio di Monaco (The Clock of Munich). This is the story of a central European family whose history is intertwined with important figures of European history such as Karl Marx, Heinrich Heine, Mendelssohn, Edmund Husserl, and Emeric Pressburger. Giorgio Pressburger, a scion of that family, delves into the family tree of that name to unravel the tales and experiences inherent in the physical and geographic territory that was (and is) Mitteleuropa, discovering “what it really means to belong to the human community of the living and the dead”.2014; 63 minutes. In Italian with English subtitles.
