a woman in sardinia

Our special guest, Italian writer Valeria Usala, in conversation with author Sara Marinelli, will present the English translation of her book, A Woman in Sardinia (La rinnegata), at the Italian Cultural Institute. The book will be released in April 2024. Penelope Aprile Zanetti will read excerpts from the book’s English translation.

Valeria Usala was born in Cagliari, Italy in 1993. After a bachelor’s degree in Languages and Communication and two Erasmus experiences in the Czech Republic and Spain, she studied filmmaking at the Ateneo del Cinema in Rome and then moved to Turin to earn a diploma in Storytelling at the Holden School in 2019. The title of her first novel is La rinnegata, was published in 2021 by Garzanti. The translation of the book, A Woman in Sardinia, will be published in April 2024.
