26th Annual Edition of the Week of Italian Language in the World
Brilliant language: Conceiving, Designing, and Creating with Italian
October 19-25, 2026
The Week of Italian Language in the World is held every year in the third week of October. Organized by the diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes in collaboration with our main partners in linguistic promotion (MiC, MIM, MUR, CePeLL, Government of the Swiss Confederation, Accademia della Crusca, CGIE, Comunità Radiotelevisiva Italofona, Istituto dell’Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani, RAI Italia and Società Dante Alighieri), the Week has become over time the most important event on a global scale dedicated to our language. Since its inception in 2001, this event has annually received the High Patronage of the Presidency of the Republic.
Each Week is dedicated to a different theme, which serves as a common thread for a rich program of conferences, exhibitions and meetings.
The theme of the 26th edition (19-25 October 2026) will be Brilliant language: Conceiving, Designing, and Creating with Italian, with the aim of emphasizing the strong connection between growth and culture, and showcasing Italy’s dynamic image that, through its “brilliant” language inherited from a long and rich history and traditions, brings the very best of its expertise to the world across fields such as technology, science, engineering, design, fashion, and gastronomy.
