26th Annual Edition of the Week of Italian Language in the World
October 19-25, 2026

Brilliant language: Conceiving, Designing, and Creating with Italian

The Week of the Italian Language in the World (SLIM), scheduled for October 19–24, 2026, will be themed “A Language of Genius: Conceiving, Designing, and Creating with Italian.” This competition draws inspiration from the chosen theme for SLIM, which celebrates the linguistic, cultural, and social sphere of the Italian language, envisioning a global community of people united by a passion for our language. Genius and creativity are embodied by those who have brought Italy’s values, ideas, and vision to the United States; American students currently studying Italian will have the opportunity to interview these individuals.

Students from K-12 schools and universities within this Consular jurisdiction are invited to participate in the competition “A Language of Genius: Conceiving, Designing, and Creating with Italian – The Interview!” as described here.

All entries must be submitted by December 31, 2026.
